Ken Olbermann? Where have you been all my life? Peter Cohen sent me a note this morning saying, "Keith Olbermann is a fucking ninja rockstar superhero," along with a link to commentary from Mr. Olbermann broadcast on MSNBC.

I fear I wasn’t familiar with Mr. Olbermann before this, but Peter is so right…

With Ground Zero in Manhattan as a backdrop, Mr. Olbermann took the opportunity to tackle many of the worst assaults on America from the Bush Administration. For instance:

"And anyone who claims that I and others like me are ‘soft’, or have ‘forgotten’ the lessons of what happened here — is at best a grasping, opportunistic, dilettante — and at worst, an idiot — whether he is a commentator, or a Vice President, or a President."

And:

"[The Bush administration] promised protection, and then showed that to them ‘protection’ meant going to war against a despot whose hand they had once shaken… a despot who we now learn from our own Senate Intelligence Committee, hated Al-Qaeda as much as we did.

"The polite phrase for how so many of us were duped into supporting a war, on the false premise that it had ’something to do’ with 9/11, is ‘lying by implication.’

The impolite phrase, is ‘impeachable offense’."

That’s a nut-punch with the ball peen hammer-of-truth, if you ask me, and I am ecstatic that someone in the media apparently has the cojones to say it. Certainly the Democrats aren’t doing so.

Click through and either read the transcript or watch the commentary (QuickTime or WMP). There’s a lot more than the short bits I quoted, and I think Mr. Olbermann is spot on with everything he said.

Also, take the time to pass it on to some other folks.
