Have you heard of Rohan O’Duill? I found him on Threads, and he’s the Irish author of the SciFi book Cold Rising and some short stories in Beyond Human. He also has a podcast called First Chapters where he reads the first chapters of other people’s books! With his Irish accent! And today he read the first chapter of Accidental Intelligence!
How cool is that? Three exclamation points in a row worth of cool, that’s how cool.
His goal is to help introduce more authors to more people, so that, “You might just find your next favourite author.” I’ve listened to several installments (on Substack), and I love that he’s doing this series!
Cold Rising by Rohan O’Duill
Cold Rising is his latest book, a SciFi novella set on Mars. Here’s the description:
After a job gone wrong, Special Agent Olgo is trapped within the bowels of Mars with no means of escape. The device that imprisons the trauma within them is about to fail, and the past terrors kept hidden by it must be contained for Olgo’s sanity and everyone’s safety.

That sounds great, and it’s the next book in my TBR (that’s To Be Read pile, for those following along at home).
